Job Description:

As a Field Engineer, you will work closely with our clients on our Project Sites to help support SiteSense® innovative construction software products on Web and mobile applications. The function of the Field Engineer is to act as the systems engineer on a Project Site working in collaboration with the client’s senior engineering team members to resolve issues in a timely fashion in order to maintain maximum customer satisfaction second to none. The Field Engineer creates project plans and then executes on the plan including tasks such as installation, configuration, commissioning, training and ongoing system support of an extensive variety of Intelliwave’s software and system. Once the Field Engineer has commissioned a SiteSense system, various support tasks can include on-going user training as well as identifying, analyzing, and repairing product failures and helping to get replacement parts as needed. The Field Engineer works closely with the client and users to recommend new products and services that will help improve their daily operations and meet their project goals. Intelliwave Field Engineers are experts with a variety of construction and industrial operations concepts, practices, and procedures where they rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity, leadership, and being an ultimate team player is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Intelliwave in a positive, passionate, and professional manner
  • Work with all personnel and outside contacts to satisfy clients to achieve company goals
  • Identify areas of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of Intelliwave’s Software Applications and hardware solutions
  • Provide timely, accurate and unambiguous updates to the defect tracking and reporting system called JIRA
  • Be responsible for Windows Mobile, iOS and Android mobile device testing
  • Perform hardware repair activities on Project sites.
  • Perform custom hardware assembly and installations on Project Sites.
  • Require infrequent backline support while performing remedial activities on-site.
  • Recognize situations requiring escalation and provide the support required to resolve the events to satisfaction of the client
  • Travel to and from project sites providing support on a shift work basis, or as required by Intelliwave (Canada, US, Australia, others)
  • Arrive to work, project sites, and meetings on time and prepared
  • Provide Training  for Intelliwave’s Software Applications
  • Ongoing Technical Training to enhance individual technical competency
  • Train other Field Engineers
  • Work with Intelliwave leadership on creating project plans and executing on project plans
  • Help the Intelliwave R&D team to create and enhance products
  • Ability to work with and enhance the team (synergy) concept

Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, open work environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing is a plus
  • Experience with Web development is a plus
  • Team player as well as a self-starter who needs little supervision and processes
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, client-facing and problem solving skills
  • Passionate about QA and keeping current with industry trends and best practices
  • Experience in the construction sector is a plus
  • Willingness to travel for potential 6-12 month placements at client sites
